So, as I’ve mentioned I live a few blocks from The Standard Hotel and like many going to The rooftop bar, I’ve been in those elevators. They are unremarkable and like most elevators, when you are in them, security cameras are trained on you overhead. No one thinks about it but like Lady Diana not wearing her seat bealt, NOW it’s a “thing”. Well, The Standard hotel said this week that they had identified the person who leaked a security video of Solange — going ballistic on Jay Z leaving the Met Gala after-party
“The Standard has identified the individual responsible for breaching the security policies of the hotel and recording the confidential CCTV video released by TMZ,” said officials from The Standard in a statement. “The Standard has already terminated the individual and will now be pursuing all available civil and criminal remedies. The Standard will next be turning over all available information to the criminal authorities.”
The employee apparently had shopped the footage around for five days before selling it to TMZ for $250,000. So, they very well might have to give back the $250K and will likely be involved in lawsuits for a while too. That is SO not kosher. (via NY Post)
