For those with pea-sized bladders, drinking problems, or both – this new app may be life-changing. For those who can tolerate the aforementioned, you can now make some chump change via a least-expected household fixture: the toilet. AirPnP, a whimsical addition to our ever-growing “sharing economy” of couches, rides and WiFi, offers a legal alternative to “rogue pees,” aka peeing in public. People who are, shall we say, over sharers, can rent out their home toilets to strangers by charging $3 per visit. Users can even rate their toilet experience.
Over 2000 people in the New Orleans area have signed up to rent out their toilets for Mardi Gras. AirPnP comes as a welcome alternative to facing time in a New Orleans Parish prison for rogue peeing. All toilets on AirPnP are posted in NOLA with the exception of one outlier in Budapest. This is a novel idea, but for $3 I would say letting a stranger blow up your bathroom just isn’t worth it.
