Karl Lagerfeld seemed to be going for a NORMCORE look this season (translation: BORING) but two things definitely stuck out.
The Chanel show featured dishwater-dull threads on housewifey-looking models who roamed throughout at Chanel-themed supermarket stocked with Chanel-brand goods (that were later donated to shelters). Lagerfeld told WWD ”After last season’s art show, I said, ‘What can we do worse, something [more about] today? The supermarket is a thing of today’s life. Even the woman who wears expensive clothing goes to the supermarket, but she shouldn’t go in stilettos.”
As I mentioned, the outfits were a vaguely shlumpy mix of tweeds and knits, nothing too spectacular, although I did gasp when I saw these two things.
A Chanel candy necklace – SQUEEEEAL – and a grocery basket made of Chanel chains.
LITERALLY, I DIE.
