When 432 Park Avenue reaches completion next year, it will change not only the face of luxury living, but the shape of the New York skyline. The monumental skyscraper will add not only height, but a giant shadow across Central Park. Not all New Yorkers are thrilled about a series of ever taller structures beginning to top out at heights beyond the landmark Chrysler & Empire State buildings. That aside, architect Rafael Viñoly has executed a smooth, symmetrical exterior with 10 foot windows that will stand in testament the old adage, “there’s no such thing as being too rich or too thin”. The full floor, 8,000 square foot penthouse – with views that look like you are in a helicopter – just sold for $95 million and the others just below hover around $80 million. When completed next year it will be the tallest residential tower in the western hemisphere and will also add another “one percenter” amenity to its bulging roster: a private restaurant available only to building residents and their guests. Look at the pics and stop to study those views a little. I guess if you have enough money to afford these views, you can just stare out the window all day. I would.
