We know now that the story of The Pontiff‘s top-secret meeting with soon-to-be Saint Kimmy of Kentucky really, really happened and that The Pope thanked her for her courage and told her to “stay strong” – to which the Apostolic clerk was all “who me? Aww shucks. I’m just doing Jeebus’es work. I’m nothing special.”
Now, though, Kim has given an interview to ABC News in which she talks a bit more in depth about the meeting.
“It was really very humbling to even think that he would want to meet me or know me. I put my hand out and he reached and he grabbed it and I hugged him and he hugged me and he said ‘thank you for your courage.’ He told me before he left, he said ‘stay strong’ and that was a great encouragement. Just knowing the Pope is on track with what we’re doing and agreeing kind of validates everything.”
