I spent many a night being totally enamored of and entertained by the girls that performed weekly at NYC bar/lounge Barracuda. More specifically, the Star Search amateur night years, hosted by the super glamazon Mona Foot. For anybody who experienced her brand of “humor”, you can co-sign that she was bold, brash…and goddess help you if your drag was not on point…let’s just say that she had a way of making you rethink your burgeoning showgirl profession.
Twenty years, and still an incubator for new drag babies, Barracuda is a staple on the NYC gay scene…and they’re throwing a big bash to celebrate! Scheduled to appear so far (and perform), actress Candis Cayne (I Am Cait/Dirty Sexy Money/Nip Tuck), actress and YouTube star Sherry Vine, and the hilarious writer, performer and drag icon Jackie Beat.
