Naomi Campbell is the latest to join the (already bloated?) cast of next season’s American Horror story, playing a “fashion editor who pays the ultimate price for her critiques.” We’ve already been told that Lady Gaga‘s character in the series will be involved with fashion, which sets the stage for some explosive scenes between the two. Naomi will also have scenes with an evil Angela Bassett and possibly other castmates Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, Lily Rabe, Matt Bomer, Emma Roberts, Chloe Sevigny, Wes Bentley, Finn Wittrock, Max Greenfield, Denis O’Hare and Cheyenne Jackson.
Sometimes…. sometimes… I just wish Ryan would worry less about stunt casting and adding gratuitous plotlines for the A-listers he wants to be friends with, and more about tightening up the overall story and making the best show he can make. I always think back to that completely pointless plotline in Coven with Patti LuPone that went ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE, and was only included because Ryan Murphy is a theater queen who wanted to hang out with Evita. Not saying that Naomi will be completely gratuitous, or might not ending up being absolutely fabulous, but I’m pretty sure he only hired her so that bloggers would trumpet the headline “Naomi VS Lady Gag!” – which I did.
