Final 3 Spoiler Alert!: You know I write for The Wow Report every day (I hope) and I’ve known the guys who run the whole operation for decades, but in terms of RuPaul’s Drag Race and insider details, I’m WAY out of the loop. World of Wonder has LOTS of top secret projects in the works, some never see the light of day, but being in New York while they are all on Hollywood Blvd. keeps me pretty clueless.
Having said that, I feel I can comment on Season 7 of RuPaul’s Drag Race in an unbiased manner. I’ve watched these queens, just like you, at home, GAGGING! I’ve seen comments of World of Wonder’s Facebook page about each eliminated contestant and how it was the WRONG decision, but I’ve gotta say, looking back over all of them, and all of the past winner, RuPaul knows what she’s doing. Winning the crown becomes a bigger and bigger deal with each passing year and yet, unlike some shows (The Voice) we do tend to hear from the stand-outs of each season after the show ends, and many times those are not the top three either. RPDR is a family. I went to the launch/preview party in New York this year and watched each girl do their thing before a tough New York crowd. Actually, they weren’t so tough, they LOVED them all. Were there stand-outs that night? I won’t lie… Pearl is a NYC gal, so she had her supporters for sure, and if there was a “Most Improved” of the season, she’d surely get it. (Don’t call me Shirley…) Plus, as a boy she’s one of the cutest RPDR contestant ever – amirite? But no one that performed night fell flat… they can ALL entertain. My favorite of the season has been Ginger Minj all along and it started that night. (You can ask my friend Dimitri.) Ginger just charms the pants off any crowd….and Violet Chachki clearly has got her sickening looks down PAT. However, in the beginning she was NOT the most conegenial in the workroom, but managed to turn that all around, huh? We’ve seen real growth and some KILLER challenges, sickening runways and guest judges. (John Waters. Hello!? Does it get better than that?)
So, my money is on the Minj, but you know it doesn’t matter. It’s NOT a democracy, it’s a kingdom – and we KNOW who the Queen is. So, who do YOU think will win? You can post your fave on World of Wonder’s Facbook page…
