Ryan Gosling posted a bitterseweet Vine of himself eating a bowl of cereal as a tribute to Ryan McHenry, the Scottish filmmaker and creator of the “Ryan Gosling Won’t Eat His Cereal” meme, who died of bone cancer this week.
The meme, which you can watch below, features clips of Ryan Gosling from his various movies, timed in such a way to make it appear as if the actor was refusing a spoonful of cereal.
Along with the Vine of himself eating cereal, Gosling sent out a message of sympathy via Twitter:
He really is one of the good guys, huh?

For those who took joy in McHenry’s clips and wish to contribute, a campaign has been launched in his name to raise money for Sarcoma UK, a British charity that aims to “increase knowledge and awareness of sarcoma through ground-breaking programmes to transform the landscape for everyone affected by sarcoma.”
