In the film Being John Malkovich, written by Charlie Kaufman and directed by Spike Jonze, John Cusack‘s character works on the 7 1/2 floor of the Mertin-Flemmer Building. This movie is trippy beyond trippy, but the floor orientation and historical explanation for the 7 1/2 floor is classic Kaufman. Watch.
