Viewers of the iHeartRadio Music Awardswere outraged by the opening monologue, saying Jamie Foxx’s jokes about Bruce Jenner’s ALLEGED transition crossed the line. “We got some groundbreaking performances, here too, tonight,” he said. “We got Bruce Jenner, who will be doing some musical performances. He’s doing a his-and-her duet all by himself.” Oh ha ha ha ha ha. He then added “I’m just busting your balls — while I still can.”
The twitterverse, of course, instantly lit up with people eager to condemn the jokes.
What do you think? Transphobic and bullying? Or just stupid and not funny? I like that everybody’s knee-jerk reaction is to step up and protect Bruce – I think that says nice things about where we are as a culture – but as far as bullying goes, it’s pretty benign. Jamie just needs to get better material.
