Jamie Brewer from American Horror Story season 1, Coven, and Freak Show, is about to make Fashion Week history being the first ever model with Down Syndrome to walk at New York Fashion Week. Jamie will be strutting her stuff on the cat walk wearing an original design by Carrie Hammer for the “Role Models Not Runway Models” campaign.
“Young girls and even young women…[see me] and say ‘hey, if she can do it so can I. It’s a true inspiration being a role model for any young women to [encourage them] in being who they are and showing who they are.” says Jamie (via Today)
Wonder what Jamie will wear?
“‘American Horror Story’ is dark, scary, bewitching so we had to go with black and Jamie has a beautiful body with a teeny waist and curves and we went with an A-line,” Carrie says. The dress is also special for another reason—Hammer hopes that First Lady Michelle Obama will wear it. (via Hollywood Life)
