In the US everyone is breathlessly awaiting the announcement of the premiere date of Season 7 of RuPaul’s Drag Race. But, across the pond, in the UK, not only is Drag Race judge Michelle Visage SLAYING on Celebrity Big Brother UK, but rumors are flying about a UK version of Drag Race. WOW has been in conversation with UK broadcasters about past seasons of RuPaul’s Drag Race and a new original UK version. In that process presenter/radio host/international superstar and wowlebrity Jonathan Ross has been incredibly supportive. In a recent article with Pink News, Jonathan has confirmed that he is actively “knocking on doors” to find a home for the show but that he doesn’t want to host the show himself.
Jonathan told Attitude:
“If Ru couldn’t do it for whatever reason, we would probably find a UK face to do it, but it wouldn’t be me. What I wanted to say was one: that there’s nothing happening right now, and two: I’m still working on it and talking about it! I’m a big big fan of the show. I’ve been watching it solidly for about three years now. “
In this process Jonathan Ross has been an incredible ally. We love that he loves RuPaul’s Drag Race and are very grateful for his generous support.
