It’s Nenah Cherry’s first album in 16 YEARS, but I’ll be damned if she doesn’t still look ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. And still hipper than you’ll ever be. The video, created by artist Dario Vigorito aka 241-24-7, is done in an ’80s digital style that will give you an epileptic seizure, sure, but go on, give it a whirl. And what’s Robyn doing in all of this? She’s apparently a HUGE Nenah Cherry fan (aren’t we all? I SAID… AREN’T… WE… ALL?) and often sings her songs in her concerts. This collaboration was Nenah’s way of thanking her.
And here, of course, is “Buffalo Stance,” which was so EARTHSHAKINGLY hip at the time, it singlehandedly turned us all into Buffalo girls back in 1989. We didn’t even have a choice. I beg you to revisit this classic, if only to laugh at the background dancers, OMG, such priceless ’80s nuttiness.
