Prince’s Saturday Night Live set featured tracks that were unknown to most viewers but it hardly mattered. Prince, his all-girl backing band 3rdEyeGirl and guest vocalist Lianne La Havas gave us an truly awesome performance. As Host Chris Rock told the audience;
“Ladies and gentlemen, you are SO lucky tonight.”
Yep. They’ll be saying that they were there for years to come. His unprecedented eight-minute set still felt too short, though. And it made me think what an under-appreciated legend and icon this guy is. God forbid, but had he died too young, like Jimi or Michael or (or even Elvis) we’d be saying what a genius he was. Watch this and tell me who living could top it?
