Back in the 90s, house music ruled, and every dance floor was all about Crystal Waters. Her hit single Gypsy Woman (La da dee la da da) became the anthem (and earworm) for every apparent disenfranchised queen from NYC to London, looking for beauty in disparaging situations. In new video Hustlin’, EDM/R&B singer Vassy samples the iconic opening organ groove from Waters’ club banger and pays homage to her by recreating some of her sartorial looks. Crystal also makes a cameo…a possible passing of the torch and nod to Vassy’s spot on re-envisioning. Vassy’s We Are Young Album out October 28th.
