The Cars along with the Moody Blues, Nina Simone, Bon Jovi and others were just inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and HBO just ran the special on Saturday night.
Cars’ frontman Ric Ocasek (74) was there in the audience with his wife of nearly 30 years, former supermodel Paulina Porizkova (53), and I thought how amazing that they’re still together. Well, it turns out THEY’RE NOT!
Using lots of auto terminology, Porizkova just announced on Instagram that she and her husband have been,
“peacefully separated for the past year. Our family always has been — and still is — a well-built car. When the four of us are together, we can go wherever the road takes us. But as a bicycle, my husband and I no longer pedal in unison. So, we’re ditching the bicycle.
The love we have for one another is so wide and deep it’s practically tangible, and that sort of love can never disappear. Expect to keep seeing happy family photos.“
They are the parents of two adult sons and met in ’84 while filming the video for the Cars hit Drive.
Porizkova says they continue to have love for each other.
