Cutie pie Chris Evans posted a video on his Twitter feed for National Pet Day, earlier this month. Evans tweeted:

“This is the moment we met. He was trying so hard to stay seated even though he desperately wanted to get out. I knew right away that he was coming home with me, so I took this video to always remember our first hello. Rescue dogs are the best dogs!! #NationalPetDay”

In Evans’ video, Dodger’s is tail wagging like crazy and licking the actor’s hand and shaking paws.

Last autumn, Evans posted a clip of Dodger going wild when they were reunited after three months apart while Evans was shooting.

Evans adopted the boxer-mix while filming Gifted in 2016. Evans told People Magazine:

”One of the last scenes we were filming was in a pound, a kennel. I asked: ‘Are these actor dogs or are these real up for adoption dogs?’ And sure enough, they were. So, I was walking up and down the aisles and saw this one dude and he didn’t belong there. I snagged him and he’s such a good dog. He acts like a puppy, he’s got the energy of a puppy, he’s just such a sweetheart, he’s such a good boy. He loves dogs, he loves kids, he’s full of love.”

According to DoSomething.org, Homeless animals outnumber homeless people 5 to 1. At least 7.6 million companion animals enter American animal shelters every year. Of those, approximately 3.9 million are dogs. 2.7 million dogs and cats are killed every year because shelters are too full.

Evans missed the premier of Avengers: Infinity War premiere this week. Evans, who portrays Captain America in the Marvel franchises is currently starring as a bad guy on Broadway opposite Michael Cera in Lobby Hero by Kenneth Lonergan (Manchester By The Sea).

It is Evans’ Broadway debut, but he was a theater-kid growing up. Evans:

”Theater is the thing that I didn’t know that I needed. As soon as this is over I will be on the hunt for the next play.”

Maybe he will be in a musical; he is currently taking tap dancing classes in NYC. When he was younger he was in productions of The Music Man, Into The Woods, West Side Story and The Pirates Of Penzance.

He is from a family of performers, but hasn’t worked on stage since he was 18-years-old. Evans:

”It was an intimidating thing to do, just because I know Broadway is a very tight-knit community, and I think you really have to earn your stripes to do it at this level, and I have not. And, so you feel a little scared that you won’t be accepted and concerned that you’re maybe taking a job from someone who’s worked really hard to be up on that stage. You don’t want to feel like you’re just leaning on your film credits and cutting in line or something.”

He received glowing reviews for his work in the play.

Evans and his epic new mustache appeared with his cute openly gay brother, Scott Evans, also an actor, on Late Night With Seth Meyers Monday where they played a game Meyers calls ”How Well Do You Know Your Brother?” Pretty well, it seems.

Avengers: Infinity War opens today. Lobby Hero runs through May 13th.
