The healing and New Age community is ripe for satire, and the new darkly comedic web series “Healing With Heather” rips right into this fascinating and deeply narcissistic world. “Healing with Heather” was written by comedian Heather Jewett, former leader of the queer electropunk band Gravy Train!!!! (which also featured wowlebrity Seth Bogart), and it’s directed and produced by writer and performer Tierney Finster. The 5-episode series chronicles the emotional disintegration of a wellness guru, each video centered around a different “tutorial” that ultimately reveals the cracks in her uber-spiritual facade. It co-stars Niko Karamyan from “The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story,” and Lara Marie Schoenhals, author of the New York Times Bestseller “White Girl Problems” and star of the viral “Please Welcome to the Stage” video parodying Taylor Swift, as well as the stellar multihyphenates Drew Hinckley and Shannon Lay.
