Drag legend Jackie Beat does a brilliant parody of the 1970’s soft-rock classic “Angie Baby,” reimagining it as a tribute to season 10’s first fallen star, Miss Vanjie. The original song, recorded by Helen Reddy in 1974, was about a deranged young woman who may or may not have turned the tables on her rapist. Jackie’s version is just as lurid, just as troubling, and somehow taps into the enigmatic allure that is Vanessa Vanjie Mateo. Listen below.
