Queen Elizabeth II shocked the fashion world this week. Not by what she wore, but by her appearance at London Fashion Week.
Her majesty, at 91, has her own signature style, but she has never experienced the world of contemporary high fashion from the front row. But she was on hand in person to deliver the Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design to designer Richard Quinn, alongside Vogue, editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
The internet responded to this collision of British and fashion royalty in a frenzy of GAGGING.
According to the Royal Family twitter account, seeks to recognize and honor
“The role the fashion industry plays in society and diplomacy, [and] be awarded annually to an emerging British fashion designer who shows talent and originality, whilst demonstrating value to the community and/or sustainable policies.“
Otherwise, everyone else was like,
“Yaaaas, Queen!!”
