One of the nuttiest queens OF ALL TIME, Love Connie, is back with a new comedy/musical/dance spectacular at the Cavern Club in Los Angeles this week.
Love Connie (John Cantwell), the “cordial cherry of the L.A.Theater scene” (HuffPost) is back with a new variety show, “My Connie Valentine,” full of love, her dance crew, Connie-motion (Lou Becker, Arne Gjelten), a couple of cats (Jennifer Dohn & Mark Orr) & some of her hottest routines yet! The show brings back classics from past shows including an Ann-Margret-inspired number from “Fade To Connie” (2015), a “Flashdance” favorite from “Love, Connie” (2010), the “Bladerunner” sequence from “The Roxy Files” (2016) & a revised number from “Connie Loves Juice.”
Also included are 4 never before seen dance routines including a DIRTY DANCING-inspired number by Emmy award winner (and frequent collaborator) Kathryn Burns (“Crazy Ex-Girlfriend”) and a long-awaited tribute to Jamie Lee Curtis’ infamous disco dance from the slasher film, PROM NIGHT.
Notably “My Connie Valentine” is proud to include special guests like Cavern Club regular Nadya Ginsburg (Madonnalogues) as “Cher,” drag artiste Puzzin*ggrr, ShyBoy (LA Weekly 2017 Best Solo Artist) and “Kids In The Hall” alumn, Scott Thompson, as “Buddy Cole.”
