Although it hasn’t officially been announced yet, our very own Junior Detective Thairin Smothers has done the legwork and can say with definite assurance that MAMA RU HAS WON the American Society of Magazine Editors Best Cover Contest of 2018! Her instantly iconic Entertainment Weekly cover garnered an impressive 28k votes before the contest closed last night at midnight. Coming in second (with a no-less-impressive 19k votes) was the National Geographic cover featuring the fabulous Avery Jackson from our Nat Geo doc Gender Revolution: A Journey with Katie Couric. Not bad! Not bad at all! And guess who came in dead last? Donald Trump on the cover of Newsweek – HA HA!
