A lot of people, including the Democrats listed below, boycotted Trump’s State of the Union speech. In case you missed it, like me, Judy Gold summed it up perfectly,
“That was the most BORING SOTU address ever. And how many times did he clap for himself?“
Yes, apparently, Trump applauded his own speech as he went.
The New York Daily News has not been kind to Trump on MANY of its covers over the last couple years, and Tuesday’s cover summed it pretty well. The paper said that Trump had used the address to pat “himself on the back” in a tweet sharing this sneak peek at today’s cover.
Trump’s re-election campaign was selling naming rights during the speech. (No joke.) For a minimum of $35, you could get your name to scroll across the screen. I was tempted to sign up as “Heywood Jablowme”.
FLOTUS did attend the SOTU (dressed in all white) but arrived separately from the POTUS. Stormy times, huh?
Satirist Andy Borowitz wanted to wish Trump well…
“I tried to wish Trump good luck on the SOTU but I kept typing STFU.“
