Boy Culture is reporting that Cardi B has attacked people who called out her fiancé Offset (of Migos) for his homophobic lyrics, feigning ignorance the lyrics would be offensive.
Offset rapped,
“I cannot vibe with queers.”
And then, he responded to the hoopla caused by saying he didn’t mean it in an anti-gay way. He explained it was what a woman feels when she is being watched by the paparazzi. Huh?
In a series of videos posted on Twitter (below), Cardi B says,
“It has a different vocabulary on the dictionary. Now, that’s a word that you guys say that it’s a bad word for gays — I never even heard that word in the first place. Why don’t y’all educate people about it? A lot of people are not aware about what’s wrong or right in the LGBT community. Why don’t we do things to educate instead of bashing and trying to label something that they not?“
Vocabulary? I’m guessing she means “definition”. And really? She’s NEVER heard the word queer used to describe gay people? It’s since been repurposed by the LGBTQ community, but it’s not a new word. Do you buy her reasoning and excuses? (Also, recording this kind of video during a hair and makeup sesssion doesn’t seem like the most serious way to approach the subject.)
