RDR Season 5 Star Penny Tration on the Ripped Dollar Bill That Almost Broke Her Spirit

One of my favorite queens of ALL TIME, RDR season 5 queen Penny Tration, had a heartbreaking story to tell on Facebook today that involves an unexpected diss, a ripped dollar bill, and the power of forgiveness.

She writes:

A Long Story and a Little Background :

I’ve had many unfortunate interactions with too many people in the course of doing my job. This incident broke thru all the defenses I had developed that allowed me to keep doing my job. Lots of people asked why I needed to step away from the spotlight for a minute. I stepped away to gain perspective and to lick a few wounds that I had allowed to fester.

Wounds Healed; Perspective Gained (wink)

Here’s the Long story :

Her hair was long, to the middle of her back, dark brown and well conditioned. Her skin was clear and her eyes were bright. I even remember her teeth being exceptionally white and perfectly straight. She wasn’t exceptionally beautiful but certainly not unattractive.

She found herself seated in the front row of our show with a small group

I did my normal opening monologue and then started the show with Shirley Bassey’s “get this party started”

At about the mid-point of my performance, I moved toward her to accept the outstretched dollar. She leaned in for what I thought was a hug before “whispering” in my ear, ” I hope you die for what you do” … then held the dollar up and ripped it in half

Security deftly and quietly took care of the rest after I verbally made a bit of a fool of myself – and we continued to do our jobs and had a great Saturday Night Show
I’ve held onto that dollar. It sat there, tucked in the frame of the mirror I get ready in every night.

Last night, I took a picture of that dollar and then threw it away.

I may one day, “…die for what I do” but that dollar and that girl will no longer have any power to make me feel any less than I am

I release you to the universe with forgiveness and peace. I alone own my happiness…

I’m so sorry she had to experience that, and I’m so sorry she held on to that woman’s toxic hate for so long. Good for her for putting it behind her. WE LOVE YOU, PENNY!
