It’s back to the old west for Justin Timberlake in his new album “Man of the Woods” – dropping February 2. In the special sneak-peek teaser trailer released today, we see manly man Justin in some Lumineers-meets-Revenant leather and flannel and blanket-as-coats as wife Jessica coos about her hubby’s new sound in a VO, saying:
“It feels like mountains, trees, campfires. Like Wild West… but now.”
Hmmm.
Jezebel says it all looks like a Jeep Cherokee commercial, which is completely spot-on, and points out it also seems like “wilderness survival as a cool marketing aesthetic.” HA!
But on the plus side: We hear a number of songs that have that trademark Justinian feeling of super-hits – and I did find myself humming along – so between this and his upcoming Super Bowl appearance next month, brace yourself for another Timberlake pop tsunami coming our way in 2018.
