After twenty years in storage, a limited edition of museum quality fine art prints hand signed by Holly Woodlawn are being offered for sale. These iconic images of Warhol Superstar Holly Woodlawn are from the early 1970s.
The photographs were taken by Jarry Lang, the Great Grand-Son of Charles VII of Spain. Jarry was a well known celebrity photographer in NYC and a dear friend of Andy Warhol.
These prints were originally made for the hopeful film making of A LOW LIFE IN HIGH HEELS, Holly’s autobiography. Holly signed each one in pencil.
Looking back, it should have been a red sharpie! Everyone that popped over left with lipstick on as we covered some prints with lip smacks. Holly could make a straight man in a suit happy to put on bright red lipstick!
Holly kept telling me to save these for the release of her documentary, even in the last weeks of her life. With the current “Political Climate Changes” taking place, I can just hear her voice … “Sell them now, and help!”
The sale of these prints signed by Holly will fulfill her last wish, to help support the homeless in the LGBT community. A limited number of signed prints are currently available on Etsy for a limited amount of time for the holiday price of $129.00.
$25.00 from each print order will be donated to The Ali Forney Center in NYC… The city she so loved and where it all began!
The remaining profit will support a museum and gallery exhibit currently being curated showcasing amazing original photographs of Holly, Jackie Curtis, Candy Darling and original Warhol’s. The proceeds from the exhibits will further support the LGBT homeless.
There is no greater time in recent history to support the LGBT community. Together we can make a difference in memory of a true trail blazer, Holly Woodlawn!
