Bottoms up!
If daring heights are not your thing, then this restaurant and the top of Seattle’s Space Needle and swimming pool hanging off the 40th floor of an apartment building in Houston are not for you either.
The clip below shows a brave soul (idiot?) with their bare feet walking along the pool’s eight-inch-thick plexiglass bottom, which hangs 10 feet out from the side of Market Square Tower.
It’s being billed as the tallest pool in Texas and the only glass-bottomed pool in Houston. And maybe the scariest pool, minus a Bond villain’s filled with sharks.
The pool was designed by Kudela & Weinheimer Landscape Architects and is the centerpiece of a wraparound rooftop terrace with views of the Houston skyline and Buffalo Bayou Park.

Seattle’s Space Needle which was designed and built for the 1962 World’s Fair there. Olson Kundig’s newest rendering for the $100 million revamp includes the restaurant’s glass floor dining experience 500 feet in the air. High above the surrounding city skyline, the new design also includes, for the brave, a viewing platform with glass benches that extend to the edge of the deck’s glass wall.

Could you swim in the glass bottom pool high above Houston or calmly eat your dinner on a floor where you can see the street? Not me, no thank you.
